William is the founder and President of Geopolymer International. He has over 42 years experience in construction specializing in concrete, structural iron, and crane operations. In 2015, as a licensed contractor, he started a new company “out-of-the-box construction.” William’s focuses on sustainable materials and commits to bringing new technologies compliant with standard certifications and permitting requirements. Currently he is working with geopolymers, 3D concrete printing, and modular housing to achieve his goals.
Tarek Maassarani has two decades' experience in initiating, designing, and managing work teams and complex social and ecological sustainability projects in the US, Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. Tarek has worked as an attorney, climate activist, policy advocate, community builder, mediator, facilitator, and professor at Georgetown University and American University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, as well as a JD from Georgetown Law and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University.
Born and raised in Charleston South Carolina, after high school went to Rice Business School, Secretarial Science Certificate. Coming from a large family with a sister and three brothers. I learned how to delegate and compromise with the best of them growing up in a close family and having many first cousins because my mother and father had seven siblings each. Work life has had many different industries; Residential and Commercial Home builders, Security and Vacuum Instillations, Real Estate Secretary and Accountant, Manager of grocery store deli, Attorney Office Bookkeeper, Industrial Waste Repurpose Industry as Office Manager and Accountant/Bookkeeping. Owned my Catering Business for 30 + years while working full time jobs. Great son who is a chef and has the joy of food as I do along with his wife and the twin girls that are the love of my life. CLE classes have assisted my knowledge over the course of work life to keep me updated. Moving on to part-time work after a long and enjoyable work life in fast pace industries. Getting ready for retirement and stumbled onto GPI! Interesting chapter to fulfill this part of my life.
We are engaged in research, development, and production of geopolymer-based sustainable construction materials, alongside the equipment to mix and print them.
